May 10, 2019 L7 and Le Butcherettes at the Glass House in Pomona, CA
L7 are back, and it’s like they never left! I went to the opening night of the tour for their brand spanking new album last Friday. “Scatter the Rats”, was recently released on Blackheart Records. It was quickly added to my library of their previous albums, and when the tracks come-up in shuffle, they fit perfectly with the older songs. The lyrics are current for the times, but the music rips as much as ever. Same goes for the new tunes in the live set. Burn Baby and Stadium West were very well received sandwiched somewhere between One More Thing and Shove. I would’ve loved to hear my favorite new track, Cool About Easy, but maybe next time. What’s so cool about easy? They wouldn’t know. Hard’s how they roll! I highly recommend going to see them if they come through your town! Make sure you go get there early enough to catch the opening band, Le Butcherettes. They are always great live and Friday was no exception!
