Nico Vega Hermosa Beach

Posted on August 20, 2009 by Christy Borgman

This week I caught up with Lamour in West Hollywood…they played at the Key Club on Monday 8-17-09. Pics here: http://www.lawomanphotography.com/lamour It’s always great to see them! Check out their myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/lamourhollywood

I headed down to Hermosa Beach last night to check out Nico Vega. My friends and I had heard some buzz over them but had never seen them before. We really enjoyed it! I didn’t have my 5D with me, but I got some cool shots with my Elph and also 3 or 4 videos. I’ll upload that in the next few days. The are playing the Sunset Junction festival on 8/22/09 at 4:10 PM. http://www.sunsetjunction.org/streetfair.htm For more info on Nico Vega, go here: http://www.nicovega.com

Michael Jackson RIP 6-25-09

Posted on June 26, 2009 by Christy Borgman

Michael Jackson’s music molded my childhood. June 25, 2009 was a horrific day that I will never forget. Thursday night, I found a large group of fans who were feeling the same way as I was…shocked and sad. We gathered across the street from Michael’s star on Hollywood Blvd and danced and sang…holding a vigil until security finally let us over to his star around 2AM. Many, many more photos will be added tonight…but here is a sampling of MJ fans turning grief into music and dance…

The Doors continue to inspire me…

Posted on June 22, 2009 by Christy Borgman

Harbor pics here: www.lawomanphotography.com/laharbor

This afternoon, I headed downtown to visit two locations where the Doors had photo shoots in the late 60s. The front photo on the Morrison Hotel album was taken at the Morrison Hotel on Spring Street in Los Angeles. The back cover of the Morrison Hotel album was taken at the Hard Rock Cafe (the “Hard Rock Cafe” chain’s supposed namesake) in skid row 4th and Wall St. in downtown LA. I’ve updated the Jim Morrison sub-category of my Perspectives gallery with the new photos. www.lawomanphotography.com/jim
