With every rainfall over the winter, I’ve been thinking about the prospect of wildflowers! Yesterday, I ventured out to the Anza-Borrego Desert to see what had bloomed! On the way from LA, I stopped in Aguanga to check out Ricardo Breceda’s sculptures. Once I was able to get through the traffic and arrived in Borrego Springs, I happily went on my search for flowers! I didn’t have to venture very far off the beaten path. The desert is in full bloom and the surrounding air was intoxicating. Desert Sunflowers, Chuparosa, Purple Mat, Wild Heliotrope, Checker Fiddleneck, , Sand Verbena and lots more!
(It seemed like half of Southern California had the same idea as it was mobbed! I suggest going soon if you’re interested in experiencing an overload of beauty, but go on a weekday if possible.)
