July 20, 2013 Reflecting on the past in Hollywood,CA
Having recently watched Rebel…, I thought it would be fun to visit James Dean’s old mechanic shop, Competition Motors. I have a book of Hollywood Landmarks, and I’d remembered seeing mention of it. Had I checked online, I would have seen that it had been demolished in 2005! I found a hubcab in the gutter at the former address- 1219 Vine Street. Though, far from a Porsche Spyder, I’ve always had an affinity for Volkswagens.
