“Migraines, the Metro and an Occasional Muse”
A few years ago, I began taking public transportation in an effort to save gas money and be more eco friendly. While riding on the Metro, I had time to reflect and I began to write my thoughts down in a notebook. I noticed that I wrote more after suffering from a migraine, while my brain still felt bruised. This writing became a cathartic tool to help me cope with the pain. Often, the words would flow into a haiku and then inspire me to take a photo to visually express what I was feeling.
This book is a collection of black and white photographs and haikus. The main theme is that of pain and loss, but there are occasional glimmers of hope through inspiration brought by the city I call home, Los Angeles.
