It’s my favorite time of the year in Los Angeles…jackets at night, t-shirt/shorts temps during the day, festive lights dripping from palm trees and the best present for fans of Rock N Roll, the annual Camp Freddy Xmas Roxy residency!
Every time I walk out of the Roxy after one of their shows, stunned and euphoric, I wonder “How will they EVER compete with THAT one?” Then they go and do something like they did Friday night- bring to the stage PAUL STANLEY! We are halfway through the 2011 extravaganza…two shows remain: December 16th and 23rd (both sold out).
The first two nights looked like this:
Camp Freddy: Matt Sorum, Billy Morrison, Dave Navarro, Donovan Leitch and Chris Chaney. (Dave and Chris were performing with their other band, Jane’s Addiction, on the 9th, so Steve Stevens filled in on guitar and Chris Wyse on bass for the entire show)
Friends: Franky Perez, Mark McGrath, Steve Jones, Skinhead Rob, Steve Stevens, Sebastian Bach, Billy Idol, Chris Wyse, Tyler Glenn, Branden Campbell, Billy Duffy, Linda Perry, Fred Durst, Stephen Pearcy, Warren DeMartini, George Lynch, Tommy Thayer, Evan Stanley (Paul’s son) AND- Paul Stanley!

Night 1 (December 2, 2011): Relax, Suffragette City, Helter Skelter, Hells Bells, Baba O’Reilly, Wonderwall, Fight For Your Right, Fly, EMI, Crazy Train, I Remember You, Whole Lotta Love, Silly Thing, Shakin All Over, LA Woman, Rebel Yell
